Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At 27 years old and a student at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Apart from his role in the drama series that was released globally as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other critically highly acclaimed Danish dramas: Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He also played a lead role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the president of Russia in House of Cards, an American television show. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his role as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019. He claimed that he and his brother first began to learn English by listening and studying the Monty Python songs.
